According to CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury, the Phillies are high on right handed outfielder Delmon Young. With spring training set to begin in three weeks, Ruben Amaro and the Phillies are still actively looking for an outfielder.
The right handed free agent is coming off a season where he appeared in 151 games, registering 18 home runs and 74 RBI's. The 27 year old free agent was one of baseball top prospects, but now has a lot of baggage that he carries along.
When Ruben was asked about bringing on players with "baggage", he simple said "We have to keep our minds open on everything. Of course I have reservations about guys who have had some issues. But we’ve got to keep our minds open also.”
The Phillies are also rumored to be in trade talks with Vernon Wells, as well as considering free agent Scott Hairston.
