According to a report from CSN Philly's Reuben Frank, Andy Reid has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. His fourteen year tenure with the Eagles ended with a 42-7 season-ending loss to the New York Giants.
After a mediocre 8-8 finish last season, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made it clear that a similar season would not be good enough for Reid to stay. It appears that he has stayed true to his word.
In his time with the Eagles, he was the longest-tenured head coach in the NFL. He finished his fourteen seasons in Philly with a record of 130-92, 6 division titles, a Super Bowl trip in 2004, but no ring.
Surely, Eagles fans were disappointed by the product put on the field the last two seasons. However, Andy Reid has been a great coach for the city of Philadelphia for many years and the best is wished to him as he moves on with his career.
