This year the NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic was set to be at Michigan Stadium, "The Big House". The outdoor classic between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs has officially been cancelled. The news was expected, but now it is certainly here.
Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan was said to fit 110,00 people for the outdoor game. It seems like the NHL and NHLPA have no intentions to get this fixed anytime soon. Of course, the cancelled games, as well as the Winter Classic could be revived, but a deal would have to be reached soon...very soon.
