As the midnight deadline loomed, the Sixers re-signed their Cinderella, Jrue Holiday. The Sixers had up until October 31st at midnight to sign their start forward to an extension, if not he would become a restricted free agent. After winning the season opener on the court, the Sixers also won off the court.
Jrue Holiday agreed to a 4 year, $41 million contract extension. Holiday finished Wednesday night with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists. Both the Sixers and Holiday are happy the deal is now behind them. Holiday told the media after signing the extension:
"It's a win-win for me if I sign now. I'm happy and I want to be here"
