The Philadelphia 76ers are carefully monitoring the health of Center, Andrew Bynum. The health of his knee continues to be a problem for the prized off season acquisition.
Originally in September, it was reported that Bynum should refrain from all basketball activity for four weeks. Bynum's knee was then re-evaluated in October, which resulted in another additional four weeks for restrained basketball activity. Bynum recieved an MRI and was again seen by Dr. Altchek this past Monday , who originally examined him in September.
Dr. Altchek has again extended the waiting period three more weeks to December 10th. Once that day hits, it is believed that it will take 1-4 more weeks to get Bynum into playing shape in order to play key minutes for the 76ers.
GM Tony DiLeo, in regards to the news on Bynum, said, "We know that Sixers fans are eager to see Andrew Bynum play and shine in a 76ers uniform. We also know that no one is more eager to see Andrew play for the Sixers than Andrew himself. He fully realizes the key contribution he can make to the team. Hopefully, that day is coming soon."
