The NY Islanders and the Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets, expected make an announcement at 1p.m. today.
In attendance at today's big annoucement will be NY Islanders Owner, Charles Wang, NHL Commisioner Gary Bettman, Garth Snow, Owner of the Brooklyn Nets Bruce Ratner, NYC's Mayor Bloomberg. Many more big names are also expected to attend.
There was not a reason as to why announcement is being made, but it is rumored that the Islanders will be moving to Brooklyn in 2015. Nothing is set in stone just yet, even though I have a good feeling that the team will be moving to Brooklyn.
I believe that moving to a bigger city and a newer arena would allow the Islanders a good boost in revenue and it's a smart move on their part, if moving is what they actually intend to do.
Updates are to follow after 1p.m.
