Now hear me out, I'm not expecting the Philadelphia 76ers to be the favorite for the NBA Championship just yet after two preseason games. However, I do expect them to have one of if not the best bench in the NBA right now.
With the increased play of players like Sixers guards, Nick Young, who in the preseason is averaging nearly 22 points per game, and Maalik Wayns, who on Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets he poured in a preseason high 18 points, this bench is full of life.
Adding on, looking at players like forward Dorell Wright, who against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night went 3 for 4 from three-point-land, will also be another force to stretch the floor against struggling defenses. After strong appearances from rookie Arnett Moultrie in the low post, and a continued increase of play from bench players, the depth of the Sixers will be the biggest issue defenses have to face.
To top it off, Jrue Holiday looks to be better offensively so far than last season. Against the Magic, he dished out 27 point while shooting 12 for 14 from the field and 3 for 4 from behind the three. Furthermore, their dishing out this brand of punishment without big man Andrew Bynum.
As we move closer to the NBA regular season, the Sixers look to take the Atlantic Division by storm. If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, start stretching your legs.
