Today was another disappointing day for hockey fans as the NHL cancelled all games through November 1, but was another productive day for our Flyers playing in Germany.
Wayne Simmonds, who is playing in Germany's second-tier hockey league with Crimmitschau, scored two goals today. Despite his two goals, the team lost to Dresdner by a final score of 5-4.
In Berlin, Claude Giroux and Eisbaren Berlin defeated Augsburger Panther by a score of 5-1. Giroux picked up another goal and an assist today. Danny Briere added three more assists to his stats.
While it is disgraceful that Giroux, Briere, and Simmonds aren't playing at the Wells Fargo Center, it is nice to see them playing well for their respective teams.
