About 20 minutes ago, Dave Spadaro (@DaveSpadaro), tweeted that the Philadelphia Eagles had placed Jason Kelce on the Injured Reserved list and that he would not return for the rest of 2012. This news was later confirmed by the Eagles.
With Kelce going on IR, the Eagles quickly re-signed Steve Vallos. Vallos is an offensive lineman who played with the Eagles for the preseason. Vallos has NFL experience having played two year each with the Cleveland Browns and the Seattle Seahawks. Vallos also has versatility. He can play both center and guard. This signing may not fill the void perfectly for the Eagles but it is the best possible option since Vallos played the preseason in Howard Mudd's system.
Kelce is the second OL to hit the IR this season. He joins tackle, Jason Peters, on the season-long IR.
The Eagles face off against the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 4:05 PM.
