Today, Mislav Brzoja a 6'4, 205 lbs. guard from Zagreb, Croatia has been added to the basketball roster for this upcoming season and will be able to compete as a freshman, announced today by the school.
In the 2011-12 academic school year at Traders Point Academy in Whitespoint, Indiana, Brzoja help lead his team to a tremendous 24-3 record. Something else that Brzoja brings to the table is his international basketball experience.
During this summer he played for his country Croatia in the Under 18 European Championships. While playing in the championships, he posted some great numbers. Brzoja averaged 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
This is what head coach Jay Wright had to say about Brzoja: "He had a great U18 championship for Croatia, where he captained his team to a gold medal. Mislav is an outstanding student and tough competitor who will add to the perimeter depth of our team." This Villanova team is adding a lot of young guards as they look to rebuild to make a run in the Big East not only this year but for years to come.
