It was announced today that one of the best running backs in Eagles history will retire in Eagles green. Brian Westbrook, after spending eight seasons with the Eagles from 2002-2009, will be honored at the Linc before the Eagles take on the Redskins on December 23rd.
He is highly respected by everyone in the organization, and kudos to the team for honoring a player who set the stage for the team's offense and current back LeSean McCoy with the way he played the game.
"He's a great runner, great blocker, great route runner and great catcher and you can move him all over the place," says head coach Andy Reid about his former player. "I think the world of the guy and he's one of the smartest players I've ever coached."
I guess you can call McCoy "B-West 2.0".
