With the 15th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft the Sixers have selected 6' 8" Power Forward Maurice Harkless, a foward from St. John's University.
Harkless was a very productive freshman and played power foward this past season. He will be expected to make the transition to small forward in the NBA. He averaged 15.3 ppg, 8.6 rbg, 1.4 bpg, and shot 44.5 % from the field this season. He is strong in the open court and has good rebounding ability. His 3 point shooting and permiter shooting is rather weak, and that will be something the Sixers hope to work on moving forward.
Harkless broke a collegieate record held by Allen Iverson, with 32 points in his Big East Conference debut.
