Dodgers 8, Phillies 3.
WP: Aaron Harang (5-3, 3.95 ERA)
LP: Cole Hamels (8-3, 2.93 ERA)
Everything was going right for the Phillies in today's ballgame. Heck, even the Phillie Phanatic got to dance in-between innings with former American Idol and X Factor judge Paula Abdul.
Unfortunately, things would change for the worse as the game progressed onward.
Cole Hamels unraveled in the top of the sixth and allowed the go-ahead and eventual game-winning runs to the opposing Los Angeles Dodgers. He suffered his third loss of the season today, and over his last three starts he has allowed 12 runs in 20 2/3 innings (5.23 ERA).
With today's loss, the team dropped to 12-19 at home. That's the worst home record in the entire National League.
Charlie Manuel summed things up pretty well in his postgame interview today: "We don't scare nobody. We used to be cocky. Teams used to fear us. Nobody fears us now." (via Ryan Petzar)
