Thanks to the potentcy of the Phillies offense in the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles, the team was able to end their long, dreaded six-game losing streak with a 9-6 victory Friday evening.

Starter Joe Blanton went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs while striking out seven and walking just one batter.

Jim Thome had his first good game of the season, going 3-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.
