Gio Gonzalez and the Washington Nationals have defeated the Philadelphia Phillies Monday evening, 2-1.
Kyle Kendrick went 7 innings strong, allowing just five hits and two earned runs. His effort, however, was not enough as the Phillies offense produced just one run on six hits, and stranded 21 runners on base.
The bases were loaded with two outs for Placido Polanco in the bottom of the 9th, but he unfortunately lined-out to end the game.
